The indefinite strike announced by school bus drivers across Maharashtra has been called off with immediate effect, bringing relief to parents and schools across the state.

Earlier, the Maharashtra School Bus Owners Association, led by President Anil Garg, had declared a state-wide strike set to begin today. The association cited unresolved demands and long-pending issues with the government as the reason behind the decision.

However, in a sudden development this morning, the strike was withdrawn. The announcement came just ahead of a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, signaling possible progress in negotiations between the government and transport unions.

A crucial meeting has been scheduled at 10 a.m. today at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai. The meeting will include the participation of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, alongside representatives from school bus unions.

Sources indicate that the meeting aims to address the concerns raised by both school bus and other passenger transport organizations. The outcome of the discussions is expected to influence the course of action for other unions, some of which have reportedly postponed their proposed strikes by two days.
