In a significant move aimed at nurturing patriotism, discipline, and physical fitness among young students, School Education Minister Dada Bhuse has announced that military-style training will now be introduced at the primary school level, starting from first grade.
The initiative, introduced by the School Education Department, is intended to instill values such as national loyalty, organizational skills, and a sense of responsibility from an early age.
Speaking to reporters after a recent event, Minister Bhuse said that students across the state will receive basic training in military discipline at the local level. He further revealed that the program will be implemented with the support of nearly 2.5 lakh ex-servicemen currently residing in the state.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reportedly expressed strong support for the initiative, stating that the training will help foster discipline, encourage regular physical exercise, and strengthen patriotic values in the next generation.
The program is currently in the planning stages, with more detailed guidelines expected to be released in the coming weeks. Educational experts and child development specialists are also being consulted to ensure the training is age-appropriate and effectively integrated into the existing school curriculum.
