(Pune) It is reported that the newly constructed flyover on Sinhagad Road in Pune will be broken at 66 places. For the newly approved metro route, there is a proposal to break the flyover on Sinhagad Road at as many as 66 places, and just a few days ago, the municipal corporation spent Rs 118 crore to build this new flyover to ease congestion on Sinhagad Road.
The central government has recently approved a new metro route from Khadakwasla to Hadapsar-Kharadi and from Nal Stop to Manikbag, spanning 32 kilometers and costing Rs 9,858 crore. While constructing this flyover on Sinhagad Road, the locations for the metro pillars were determined, and to erect the metro pillars, the flyover will be cut at 66 places.
As a result, the width of the flyover will be reduced by about two meters on each side, according to information from the municipal corporation. The municipal administration has stated that the width of this flyover was kept greater considering the metro. Therefore, now the flyover will be demolished at many places for metro work, and due to this new metro work, the flyover will become wider, which will now impact traffic on Sinhagad Road.
