(Angar Nagar Panchayat) The election frenzy has begun. Ujjwala Thete, the candidate from the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, had filed her nomination for the Angar Nagar Panchayat President post, which is the focus of Solapur district. It is reported that her nomination was rejected due to the absence of a proposer’s signature on her application.
The deadline for withdrawing nominations is until the 21st. For the Angar Nagar President post, two nominations have been deemed valid: Prajakta Patil, daughter-in-law of Rajan Patil from the BJP, and independent candidate Saraswati Shinde. The election officer has declared Thete's nomination invalid due to the objection regarding the absence of a proposer’s signature.
Against this backdrop, celebrations were seen among BJP's Rajan Patil supporters after the NCP Ajitdada faction's application was rejected in Angar Municipal Council. Rajan Patil's son directly challenged Ajit Pawar, stating that Ajit Pawar can mess with anyone but not with the people of Angar.
There was a grand celebration by BJP's Rajan Patil and his sons Ajinkya Rana and Balraja Patil. As the NCP Ajitdada faction's mayoral candidate Ujjwala Thite was disqualified today, if the remaining independent candidate Saraswati Shinde withdraws, there is a possibility that BJP candidate and Rajan Patil's daughter-in-law Prajakta Patil could become the first mayor.
