Senior social activist Baba Adhav passed away due to prolonged illness. He took his last breath at the age of 96. Baba Adhav had been undergoing treatment for the past 13 days. He was admitted for treatment at Pune's Poona Hospital.
Two days ago, Sharad Pawar visited Dr. Babasaheb Adhav at Pune Hospital in Pune to inquire about his health. Previously, senior socialist leader Pannalal Surana had passed away last week. Sharad Pawar paid tribute to him on social media, highlighting his work.
Dr. Baba Pandurang Adhav is a prominent leader of the social and labor movement in Maharashtra. He organized marginalized workers, including porters, rickshaw drivers, and construction workers, to secure justice, social security, and dignity for them. Through the establishment of 'Hamal Panchayat' and the 'One Village One Water Source' movement, he fought against caste discrimination and for social equality.
