In a major political blow to Thackeray’s faction of Shiv Sena, Mama Rajwade who was appointed as the metropolitan chief of Nashik just six days ago is reportedly set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
Rajwade had recently replaced Vilas Shinde as the metropolitan chief of Shiv Sena (UBT). However, his sudden switch to the BJP within a week of his appointment has sparked intense speculation and discussion across political circles in Nashik and beyond.
In addition to Mama Rajwade, several other local leaders, including Sunil Bagul, Seema Tajne, and Prashant Dive, are also expected to formally join the BJP today. Their defection is being viewed as a strategic gain for the BJP ahead of upcoming local and state-level elections.
Meanwhile, Rajwade’s past has also come under scrutiny. A case involving robbery and assault has reportedly been registered against him at Bhadrakali Police Station in Nashik. While BJP has not commented on the matter, the development has added another layer of controversy to the political crossover.
