"Even the Gulal Hadn’t Dried Yet...": Minister Jaykumar Gore Accuses Opposition of Plotting Against Him

They did what was not possible in Pakistan here.

Shamal Sawant

Maharashtra Minister Jaykumar Gore stirred political waters on Sunday during a public meeting in Malshiras, where he launched a pointed attack on the opposition. He claimed that a conspiracy was hatched to implicate him in an assassination attempt, alleging that what has happened to him is something “unheard of even in Pakistan.”

What Did Jaykumar Gore Say?

In a charged speech, Gore stated:

“The gulal that fell on my body hadn’t even dried when I received a call informing me that a case of attempted murder had been registered against me.”

He framed the conflict as one between the established political class and the displaced or underrepresented people.

“Our fight has always been the displaced versus the established. The displaced rose up because they were constantly wronged by those in power,” Gore declared.

Political Struggles and Early Challenges

Recalling his political journey, Gore said:

“In my first election, I was elected as an independent candidate. At the time, the Baramatikar was the MP, and all the MLAs in our region belonged to their faction. They used to say, ‘Even if we pick up a stone, it will get elected.’ But I won independently—and that marked the beginning of this long struggle.”

He emphasized that soon after his victory celebrations, he was targeted.

“While I was en route to Mumbai and Delhi for meetings, I received the shocking call about the attempt-to-murder case,” he added.

Allegations Against Political Rivals

Gore did not hesitate to name those he believes are behind the alleged conspiracy, referring to influential regional factions like the Baramatikars and Aklujkars. He accused them of deliberately trying to obstruct his rise within the government.

“So many were against me becoming the guardian minister that they went to the extent of immersing idols of God prematurely—just to stop me,” he said, symbolizing the extreme measures taken by his opponents.

Political Repercussions

Jaykumar Gore’s fiery remarks have generated buzz in political circles and media alike, especially with elections approaching. While the opposition is yet to respond officially to his accusations, the speech has revived conversations around factionalism, power struggles, and alleged misuse of political influence in the region.

With these strong statements, Gore has once again positioned himself as a political outsider battling the establishment—setting the tone for a potentially high-voltage election season.
