Amid ongoing speculation about a possible political reunion between Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, Union Minister Narayan Rane has launched a sharp attack on Uddhav, questioning his motives and recalling past grievances between the Thackeray cousins.
In recent days, reports have emerged suggesting that Raj and Uddhav Thackeray may share a stage at an upcoming rally focused on Marathi identity, signaling a potential thaw in relations after years of political estrangement. Reacting to this development, Rane criticized Uddhav for what he described as hypocrisy.
“Uddhav Thackeray is now trying to bring back the respected Raj ji Thackeray in the name of brotherhood,” said Rane. “But let us not forget that it was Uddhav himself who once harassed Raj ji, humiliated him, and forced him out of the party. Do you think Raj has forgotten that? Why is Uddhav suddenly eager to reconcile now?”
Rane went on to accuse Uddhav of being responsible for the decline of Shiv Sena, stating that senior leaders such as Raj Thackeray, Ganesh Naik, Eknath Shinde, and Rane himself had contributed significantly to the growth of the party—only to be sidelined later.
“Honourable Balasaheb Thackeray brought Shiv Sena to power. That power was later lost under Uddhav’s leadership. He is entirely responsible for the fall of the party,” Rane asserted. “The Marathi people and the Hindu community have now rejected him. He neither has the courage nor the capability to regain what has been lost. What has gone from a drop cannot be returned by the whole pond.”
