Team India defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in Dharamshala and took a 2-1 lead in the series. After failing in both batting and bowling in the second T20I match, Team India made a tremendous comeback in the third and decisive match. In this match held at the HPCA Cricket Stadium, South Africa set a target of 118 runs, but India reached 120 runs with just 1 wicket lost in 15.5 overs, securing victory 25 balls early.

In this series, for the second consecutive time, captain Suryakumar Yadav, who succeeded in the coin toss, chose to field and compelled South Africa to bat first. The Indian bowlers responded appropriately to this decision and bowled out the opponents for 117 runs in 20 overs. There was doubt whether South Africa would reach 100 runs, but captain Aiden Markram played the role of a savior. He played a notable innings of 61 runs to save the team's pride. Donovan Ferreira scored 20 and Anrich Nortje scored 12 runs, but no one else could reach double figures.

From Team India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube took 1 wicket each. While chasing the runs, the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill gave an aggressive start and made a partnership of 60 runs. Abhishek returned at 35 runs, then Shubman and Tilak Varma added a partnership of 32 runs in 38 balls. Shubman was out for 28 runs in 28 balls.

Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav scored 17 runs in 18 balls, but Suryakumar returned after being caught for 12 runs in an attempt to secure a quick victory. In the end, the pair of Tilak (not out 25) and Shivam Dube (not out 10) led India to victory. From South Africa, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch took 1 wicket each. This victory avenged India's defeat at this ground in 2015 and established a strong position in the 5-match series with a 2-1 lead.
