Indian T20 captain and star batsman Suryakumar Yadav is currently recuperating in Germany after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia. The cricketer, who recently wrapped up a stellar performance in IPL 2025, had taken a short break and was traveling abroad with his wife, Devisha Shetty.

Suryakumar took to social media on Wednesday to share a photo from a hospital in Munich, confirming that he had undergone surgery. The image, showing him in a hospital bed, has sparked concern among fans and followers. In his post, he assured that the procedure was successful and thanked everyone for their wishes.

Devisha Shetty also posted an update, sharing a photo with Suryakumar from the hospital. She informed fans that his health is stable and improving, helping ease concerns over his condition.

Prior to the surgery, Suryakumar and Devisha had spent time together in Paris and London, and shared several special moments from their trip on social media. Devisha continues to share vlogs from their European travels on her YouTube channel, which have been well received by fans.

Suryakumar was recently appointed as the captain of India’s T20 team following veteran Rohit Sharma’s exit from the shortest format. However, after this surgery, it is unlikely that he will be available for India’s upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh, scheduled between August 26 and 31.

The Indian team is currently engaged in a Test series against England, and the Bangladesh tour is set to follow in August. With Suryakumar's recovery timeline unclear, the selectors may have to consider alternative leadership options for the T20 squad.
