The first match of Virat Kohli's Delhi team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy will now be played at the BCCI Center of Excellence instead of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This decision by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has relocated all Vijay Hazare Trophy matches from Chinnaswamy. This step has been taken due to security directives from the Karnataka government's Home Ministry.

KSCA officials told Cricbuzz that immediate action was taken as soon as the information about the venue change was received from the Home Ministry on Tuesday morning. Accordingly, all Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, including tomorrow's (December 24) match between Delhi and Andhra Pradesh, will be played at the Center of Excellence. Pre-match training sessions have also been moved here.

The participation of Virat Kohli has made this match particularly significant. This is his comeback match in the local one-day tournament after a long break. He last played a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in the 2010-11 season.

Now the question arises whether spectators will be allowed to attend at the Center of Excellence. The current situation is unclear, and possibly these matches will be played in an empty stadium. KSCA will strictly adhere to government instructions. Although this change has caused disappointment among cricket fans, priority has been given to safety.
