In a sharp political attack, Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and senior leader of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), accused the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) government of failing to fulfill its promises. Speaking during the launch of the party's "Tumcha Jhagda Kay?" (What's Your Dispute?) campaign in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Danve criticized the state government for making lofty announcements that remain unimplemented.
“This government is changing its color so fast that it would embarrass a lizard,” Danve remarked, highlighting what he called the administration’s inconsistency and failure to act on key issues affecting farmers, women, youth, and senior citizens.
Danve slammed the government’s pre-election commitments to farmers, which included loan waivers, crop insurance, subsidies, and support price schemes. He claimed that these announcements were reduced to mere slogans with no actual implementation.
The loan waiver scheme has faced repeated delays, and the incentive subsidy for prompt loan repayment has vanished.
Finance Minister Ajit Pawar’s sarcastic remarks about loan waivers have hurt the farming community.
Over 1,000 farmer suicides in the past seven months reflect the failure of the government’s agricultural policies.
The import of soybean and cotton, allegedly to control prices, has negatively impacted local farmers.
The promise to increase the Shetkari Samman Yojana payout from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 has remained unfulfilled.
The much-publicized guarantee of giving farmers 1.5 times the production cost has remained only on paper.
The ₹1 Crop Insurance Scheme has been scrapped, with private insurers profiting while farmers await compensation.
The announced development of Panand roads in 45,000 villages has shown little to no progress.
Danve also criticized the government’s approach to women’s welfare, calling the schemes superficial and lacking impact.
The "Laadki Bahin" scheme aimed at supporting 8 lakh women has yet to benefit the promised recipients.
There is no clarity on the Ujjwala Gas Scheme, leaving many women without promised gas connections.
Incidents of atrocities against women continue to rise, with an average of 70 women going missing daily and 7,521 cases of crimes against women recorded in 2023.
Despite these alarming figures, the Women's Commission remains inactive, and the government’s silence has raised serious concerns.
Danve concluded his statement by emphasizing that the Mahayuti government is only focused on announcements and publicity, while the real issues remain neglected. Through the "Tumcha Jhagda Kay?" campaign, Shiv Sena (UBT) aims to bring these grievances to the forefront and hold the government accountable for its unkept promises.
