A disturbing incident has surfaced from Ambernath, where a 12-year-old boy was brutally assaulted by a man from the same residential building allegedly over closing a lift door. The entire act was captured on the elevator’s CCTV camera, and the footage has since gone viral, sparking widespread outrage across the locality.

The incident took place at the Patels Zion residential complex in Ambernath. The victim, a boy residing on the 14th floor, was on his way to class when the lift stopped on the 9th floor. As no one appeared to be entering, he resumed his journey by closing the lift door. Moments later, a resident from the 9th floor, identified as Kailas, allegedly forced open the lift, entered in a fit of rage, and began assaulting the boy.

According to the boy’s account, Kailas not only beat him but also hurled verbal abuse and issued a chilling threat: "If I see you outside, I’ll kill you with a knife."

The boy's father said that the building’s housekeeping staff, who was also present in the lift, tried to intervene, but Kailas continued to hit the child from the 9th floor down to the ground floor. Even after exiting the lift, Kailas allegedly resumed the assault until other residents stepped in and restrained him.

The boy’s father has lodged a formal complaint at the Ambernath Police Station. Police have registered a case and confirmed that an investigation is underway.

The viral CCTV footage has shocked the local community, reigniting concerns about child safety within residential premises. The video shows the man repeatedly slapping and attacking the minor, triggering strong condemnation from citizens and calls for strict action.

Authorities have assured that appropriate legal steps will be taken following the investigation.
