A horrific crime has come to light in the Channamankere Skating Ground area of Bengaluru, where the body of a 40-year-old woman was discovered in a garbage truck under suspicious circumstances. The body was found stuffed in a bag inside a garbage bin, sparking panic and outrage in the local community.
Bengaluru police acted swiftly and arrested the accused within 20 hours of discovering the body. The victim, identified as Asha, had been living in a live-in relationship for the past year and a half with Mohammed Shamsuddin, a native of Assam who is already married.
According to police, the couple had a heated argument on Sunday night over a minor issue. In a fit of rage, Shamsuddin allegedly strangled Asha to death. In a shocking attempt to dispose of the body, he reportedly tied her legs around her neck and transported her remains in a bag to a municipal garbage disposal area nearly 20 kilometers away.
The next morning, a sanitation worker discovered the suspicious bag during routine garbage collection and immediately alerted the police. Initial suspicions suggested the possibility of sexual assault, but the post-mortem report confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation.
Acting on the evidence, the police reviewed CCTV footage from the area and quickly identified and apprehended the suspect. Mohammed Shamsuddin has since been arrested and a case of murder has been registered against him.
Police officials confirmed that an investigation is underway to uncover more details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the crime.
This brutal incident has once again raised concerns over domestic violence and the safety of women in live-in relationships, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and legal reforms to ensure better protection.
