Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Traders Face 5,000 Rupee Fine for Missing Dustbins

Strict action by the municipality for littering in public places

With the aim of keeping the city clean and beautiful, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipality has made a major decision. Traders who do not keep dustbins in front of their shops will now be directly fined 5,000 rupees. Additionally, a heavy fine will be imposed on those who litter in public places, medians, or squares.

Lesson of 'Clean City' to be learned from road widening campaign

Due to the ongoing road widening campaign in the city, the terror of municipal action has spread among traders. The administration is experiencing this, and taking advantage of this opportunity, the municipality will now adopt a stricter and more effective role for city cleanliness.

Fine of 5,000 if there is no dustbin

The municipal solid waste management department has clearly instructed that it is mandatory to have a dustbin in front of every commercial shop. If any shop is found without a dustbin, an immediate fine of 5,000 rupees will be imposed on the shopkeeper.

Action even if garbage is thrown in public places

Not only shopkeepers, but if ordinary citizens throw garbage on the road, divider, or square, punitive action will be taken against them as well. Municipal inspectors have been given direct authority to impose fines in such cases.

Complete ban on 'single-use plastic'

A special campaign has been undertaken to completely stop the use of single-use plastic in the city. The municipality has appealed to traders to use environmentally friendly alternatives instead of plastic.

Responsibility for action lies with 'Sanitation Inspectors' and 'Citizen Friends'

The entire campaign is being implemented under the leadership of Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Nandkishore Bhombe. In all 10 zones of the city, the responsibility of imposing fines has been assigned to the 'Sanitation Inspectors' and 'Citizen Friend Teams' – which include former soldiers. Under this campaign, sanitation inspectors have been given clear orders, and instructions have also been given to create awareness among citizens and take strict action against those who violate the rules.
