Heavy rains on the Gujarat coast have caused the sea to rage, and the intensity of the waves has increased in the areas of Amreli, Jafrabad, and Somnath. Meanwhile, information has emerged that three boats have sunk.
A boat located about 15 nautical miles near Somnath began to fill with water. Other boats tried to bring it to shore, but due to huge waves and stormy winds, the boat eventually sank. Fortunately, all eight fishermen on this boat were rescued in time by other boat owners. It is reported that all these fishermen are from the Umargam taluka.
For the past few days, heavy rains have persisted in many parts of the state, including Mumbai. On Tuesday, the intensity of the rain did not subside, and the sea appeared more turbulent. The situation has become more serious due to the increased wind speed.
Considering the threat of stormy winds, the administration has issued a strict warning to fishermen not to venture into the sea. Heavy showers continue in Mumbai and its suburbs, with increased impact of rain and wind along the coast.
