In a move that is likely to stir political speculation, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar once again praised Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar, highlighting his contributions to women's representation in politics.
Speaking at a public event in Pune, Ajit Pawar lauded Sharad Pawar's tenure as Chief Minister, recalling his decision to implement 33 percent reservation for women in the political sphere. "During Sharad Pawar's tenure as Chief Minister, significant efforts were made to ensure political reservation for women," Ajit Pawar stated.
He further emphasized that the legislative assembly will continue its proceedings until the current women's reservation bill is passed. "The House will continue its work until this bill becomes law," he affirmed.
Ajit Pawar’s repeated praise for Sharad Pawar is being seen by many as a potential signal of rapprochement between the two factions of the NCP, which split amid political tensions in recent months. While no formal alliance has been announced, such remarks have added fuel to the ongoing speculation about a possible reunion or collaboration between the estranged leaders.
