The high-scoring match, played on Sunday, saw Punjab Kings setting a formidable target of 237 runs after being asked to bat first. Despite a spirited chase, the Lucknow Super Giants could only muster 199 runs, falling short of the target and conceding their defeat.

LSG skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first, putting Punjab on the back foot early. PBKS opener Priyansh Arya struggled under pressure, managing just 1 run off 4 balls before being dismissed in the first over. However, Josh Inglis turned the tide with an explosive cameo, smashing 30 runs off just 14 deliveries, injecting momentum into the innings.

With this win, Punjab Kings have now secured their seventh victory in 11 matches, bolstering their playoff hopes. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continue their dominance at the top of the table, having won 8 out of 11 matches and accumulated 16 points. Mumbai Indians (MI) trail close behind, occupying the third spot with 7 wins to their name.

The victory not only strengthens Punjab’s position in the race to the playoffs but also highlights the intense battle unfolding in the final stretch of the tournament.
