Along with Itwari, five other railway stations under the Nagpur division were also inaugurated. These include Seoni, Dongargad, Chanda Killa, and Aamgaon. The upgrades to these stations are part of the Central Government’s ‘Amrit Bharat’ station redevelopment initiative.
Itwari Railway Station, located in the Nagpur division of Central Railway, was redeveloped over a span of two and a half years. Last year, the station was renamed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Station in honor of the prominent freedom fighter. The redevelopment has incorporated elements of Nagpur's rich cultural heritage, with motifs inspired by the city’s famous oranges and tribal culture.
A stunning glass artwork of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has also been installed, which has quickly become a focal point at the station.
The expanded station now boasts a range of modern amenities, including ticket counters, spacious toilets, CCTV cameras across the premises, an attractive porch, a garden, and a comfortable waiting room, ensuring an improved experience for passengers.
This station will serve as an important hub for passengers traveling primarily to eastern India, with trains heading to Chhattisgarh and Odisha making stops here. The redevelopment project, which cost around ₹12.39 crore, will offer modern facilities to passengers, enhancing convenience and comfort.
