There has been a significant change in leadership within the Nationalist Congress (Sharad Pawar faction). Senior party leader Jayant Patil has resigned from the position of State President, and now this responsibility will be entrusted to Shashikant Shinde. It has been reported that he will formally assume office on July 15.
Jayant Patil had already requested to be relieved from the position of state president on the party's foundation day, which is June 10. He expressed that the party entrusted him with responsibility over a period of seven years, but now new faces should be given a chance.
Shashikant Shinde's Reaction
After Shashikant Shinde's name came up for the position of state president, he interacted with the media. "There has not been an official decision from the party yet. I will accept the decision made by senior leadership including Pawar Saheb, Supriya Tai, and Jayant Patil," he said.
The party meeting is scheduled for July 15, where a final decision is likely to be made. "I learned that my name is being discussed from you, but no name is official. I will work responsibly according to the decision made by the party," Shinde also clarified.
He further said, “Today is a time of struggle. To maintain the party's reputation, we all need to work together. It is difficult to compare the work done by Jayant Patil. He has led the party with great responsibility.”
Political Perspective and Responsibilities
While discussing political developments, the issue of unemployment, and the discontent among the youth, Shinde said, “There is a need for new leadership in political movements. Big promises are made before elections, but they are not implemented. This reality needs to be presented to the public.”
"If I get this opportunity, I will consider it a privilege and work with the vision of former Home Minister R.R. Patil in mind. I will especially focus on the issues of farmers and youth," Shinde stated.
