According to the latest IMD forecast, heavy to very heavy rains are expected today in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha. The department has warned residents to stay alert as severe weather conditions may lead to local flooding and disruptions.

In addition to the red alert for Konkan, an orange alert has been issued for districts such as Raigad, Pune, Kolhapur, Nanded, Latur, Chandrapur, and Nagpur, where thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected.

The IMD has also indicated the possibility of isolated rain showers in parts of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, and Satara. These pre-monsoon rains, which have already lashed parts of the state over the past few days, are expected to intensify further today.

Authorities have urged people to take necessary precautions and remain updated with weather advisories as the state prepares for the onset of the monsoon season.
