Mumbaikars are advised to plan their Sunday travel carefully, as a mega block will be imposed on all three suburban railway routes — Central, Harbour, and Western Railways — on Sunday, June 15, for scheduled engineering and maintenance works.
According to the Central Railway authorities, a mega block will be in effect on the Main and Harbour lines from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM. During this time, Up and Down slow line services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar will be affected.
Key changes during the block:
Down slow trains departing from CSMT between 10:48 AM and 3:45 PM will be diverted to the Down fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar.
These diverted trains will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla stations.
At Vidyavihar, services will be rerouted back to the Down slow line.
Simultaneously, a five-hour block will also be imposed on the Up and Down slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations on the Western Railway line, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Railway officials have urged commuters to check the updated train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Additional staff will be deployed at key stations to assist passengers during the block hours.
For real-time updates, passengers are advised to follow the official social media handles of Central and Western Railways or use the UTS app and other railway travel platforms.
