Senior BJP leader Narayan Rane has openly criticized his son and Minister of Fisheries and Ports Development Nitesh Rane over a controversial statement made during a recent public program in Dharashiv.
While referring to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Nitesh Rane had said, “He is the Chief Minister because he is the father of everyone.” The remark stirred political discussion and led to a clarification from Fadnavis himself.
Joining in, Narayan Rane has now rebuked his son’s comment, stating:
“The Chief Minister is not anyone’s father. What Nitesh Rane said was wrong.”
In a candid reflection on his own tenure as Chief Minister, Rane added:
“I too have held the post of Chief Minister. At that time, if anyone addressed me as ‘Saheb,’ I would tell them not to call me that—I am a servant of the people.”
Narayan Rane’s public disapproval of his son’s statement has garnered attention in political circles, reflecting both his commitment to political decorum and the internal differences within political families.
