Operation Sindoor : NIA Issues Appeal to Tourists for Information on Pahalgam Terror Attack

Following India’s recent air strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan as part of Operation Sindoor, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a crucial appeal to Indian citizens. The agency has urged tourists and locals who may have witnessed or documented the Pahalgam terror attack to come forward with information that could assist the ongoing investigation.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which took place on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, sparking national outrage and prompting retaliatory action by Indian armed forces. Now, the NIA is seeking to gather evidence from witnesses, including photographs, videos, or any other relevant materials captured at the scene or nearby areas.

How to Share Information with NIA

In a public notice issued via its official channels, the NIA has requested that anyone in possession of such information should immediately contact the agency. The contact numbers provided are:

  • Mobile: 96549 58816

  • Landline: 011-2436 8800

The agency has advised individuals to share their personal details and the nature of the information they possess. A senior NIA officer will then reach out to verify and collect the materials.

This initiative is part of a broader intelligence-gathering effort to bring the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack to justice and ensure such incidents are not repeated.

Call for Public Cooperation

The NIA emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in such high-profile terror investigations. Information from on-ground witnesses can play a pivotal role in identifying suspects, understanding the sequence of events, and corroborating digital or forensic evidence.

With the investigation underway and security tightened across Jammu & Kashmir and border regions, authorities have reiterated their commitment to uncovering the full network behind the attack.
