In a significant development during the ongoing Pandharpur Wari 2025, the closure of VIP darshan for Lord Vitthal has led to faster access for ordinary devotees. The duration of Padsparsh Darshan (foot-touch darshan) has been reduced by half, with many devotees completing their darshan within just six hours.
With the suspension of special or VIP entry during the Ashadhi Wari, the crowd flow has become more streamlined. As a result, the darshan queue has now extended to the darshan pavilions set up along Gopalpur Road. All 13 darshan pavilions are currently operating at full capacity, accommodating the continuous influx of Warkaris and devotees.
The reduced waiting time has come as a relief to thousands of devotees who traditionally endure long hours to seek blessings from Vithuraya. Temple authorities confirmed that the decision to halt VIP access was taken to ensure a more equitable experience for all pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the official Mahapuja of Ashadhi Ekadashi will be held on July 6, and will be performed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife. A revered Warkari couple will also participate in the ritual, upholding tradition and honoring the spirit of the Wari.
The Vitthal Rukmini Mandir Committee has appointed 11 priests to conduct the official Mahapuja, ensuring that the event is carried out with full religious fervor and discipline.
This year’s Wari has witnessed enhanced arrangements and smoother crowd management, reflecting a conscious effort by the authorities to prioritize the spiritual experience of the common devotee.
