In the wake of the tragic crash of the Air India Dreamliner flight in Ahmedabad, political voices are growing louder with speculation over whether the incident was purely accidental — or the result of sabotage. Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut has now made a sensational claim, expressing suspicion that a cyber attack may have been involved.

Speaking to the media, Raut said,

“The simultaneous shutdown of both engines cannot merely be dismissed as a technical failure. There is a strong possibility of cyber interference behind this.”

"The government should learn a lesson from this. It is not possible to shirk responsibility by handing over Air India to a private organization," he also gave a clear warning. Raut's statement is likely to give a new impetus to the investigation into the plane crash. Central and international teams are currently investigating, and it is expected that the real cause will be clear only after the examination of the black box.

Warning on Privatization of Air India

In a direct warning to the Centre, Raut questioned the decision to privatize Air India:

“The government must take responsibility. You cannot escape blame simply by handing over Air India to a private organization. This is a national concern,” he warned.

Raut’s remarks are expected to add a new dimension to the ongoing investigation, which is currently being conducted by both central and international aviation authorities. The black box analysis is underway and is expected to reveal more definitive insights into the exact cause of the crash.

As the probe continues, Raut’s cyber attack theory may push investigators to explore digital vulnerabilities and cyber threats as part of their inquiry — potentially raising broader concerns about aviation cybersecurity in India.
