According to police sources, the accused was reportedly performing reckless stunts late at night when Police Constable Santosh Dattu Kamble, who was on duty at the time, intervened and asked him to stop. Enraged by the officer’s action, the young man allegedly began to abuse and threaten him.
He reportedly warned Kamble by saying, “If you call a crane, I’ll run you over with the car.” Moments later, he reversed the vehicle and rammed it directly into the constable, causing a serious head injury and heavy bleeding.
Constable Kamble was immediately rushed to Bhagyajyot Hospital in Baramati, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is critical but stable.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused not only ignored police instructions but also displayed a violent and criminal mindset by attacking a law enforcement officer with what is being treated as a deadly weapon—his car.
A serious case has been registered against the unidentified accused at the Baramati Taluka Police Station. Acting swiftly, police traced and arrested the suspect within a few hours of the incident. Further investigation is currently underway.
