A tragic helicopter crash occurred near Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of five individuals on board. The incident took place near Trijugi Narayan in the Gaurikund area.
The helicopter, operated by Aryan Aviation Company, was en route from Kedarnath Dham to Phata when it reportedly crashed due to adverse weather conditions. Initial reports had indicated that the helicopter had gone missing while flying between Trijugi Narayan and Gaurikund.
According to Dr. V. Murugeshan, Additional Director General (Law and Order), Uttarakhand Police, the helicopter was initially reported missing during its flight from Dehradun to Kedarnath. A few hours later, it was confirmed that the missing helicopter had crashed. While earlier reports suggested five fatalities, authorities later clarified that six people were on board at the time of the crash.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local police rushed to the crash site for rescue and relief operations. ADG Dr. Murugeshan also reached the spot to supervise the situation.
The identities of the victims are yet to be officially confirmed. Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, though inclement weather is believed to be a key factor.
