Torrential rain is falling in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A severe flood situation has arisen throughout the Prayagraj district. Rivers are flowing at more than one meter above the level, and more than 10,000 homes have been submerged by floodwaters. Villages in the talukas of Sadar, Karchana, Phulpur, Soraon, Handia, and Bara have been directly hit by the flood.

Employees of NDRF, SDRF, police, and administration are making efforts on a war footing to move citizens from submerged areas to safe locations. Many citizens are seen relocating themselves to safe areas or to relatives.

The water level of the Ganga river at Phaphamau and Chhatnag has been recorded at 85.77 meters and 85.05 meters, respectively, while at Naini, the Yamuna's level has reached 85.78 meters. Senior officials have ordered the provision of food, drinking water, medicines, and other facilities to the citizens. Due to heavy rainfall in Varanasi, the water level of the Ganga river has also risen.

Meanwhile, videos of the flood-affected areas are going viral on social media. Additionally, the floodwaters have entered the surrounding areas, creating an atmosphere of fear among the citizens. Due to heavy rains, the situation worsened further on Sunday morning. Traffic systems have come to a standstill as water has accumulated in many areas. The administration has urged citizens to remain alert, and efforts are underway at all levels to control the flood situation.
