Jio launches new WiFi 6 router as an affordable option for fast internet
Reliance Jio has launched a powerful new addition to its home internet product line — the Jio AX6000 Universal Router, featuring WiFi 6 technology. Priced affordably at ₹5,999, the dual-band router is designed for large households, multiple device users, and smart home enthusiasts looking for seamless and fast internet connectivity. The Jio AX6000 operates simultaneously on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, eliminating the need to switch between networks. It offers impressive speeds — up to 4,800Mbps on the 5GHz band and 1,200Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, combining to deliver a theoretical total speed of 6,000Mbps.
With WiFi 6 capabilities, users can expect better range, improved network stability, and reduced latency, making it ideal for demanding tasks like 4K streaming, cloud gaming, and smart home integrations. Even with multiple devices connected at once, the router is designed to prevent slowdowns — a crucial feature for modern digital homes. One of the router’s standout features is its Jio True AI Mesh technology, which enables users to connect multiple AX6000 routers to build a seamless mesh network across larger areas. Equipped with a quad-core processor, Jio claims the router delivers smoother and more consistent performance, with LAN ports four times faster than traditional ones — a significant advantage for gaming and HD streaming.
The AX6000 is a fully Ethernet-based router, compatible with broadband, fiber, and DSL connections. However, it supports only IP over DHCP setup and does not support IPoE or PPPoE configurations. Setup is simple, with the JioHome app — available on both Android and iOS — guiding users through the installation process in just a few steps.
Offering coverage of up to 2,000 square feet and supporting over 100 simultaneous device connections, the Jio AX6000 is currently available for purchase on Jio’s official website and major e-commerce platforms. It comes with a 1-year warranty for the router and a 6-month warranty for the adapter. With this launch, Jio continues its push to make high-speed internet more accessible and efficient for Indian households, especially as digital consumption and smart device usage continue to rise.
