Paytm Launches 'Hide Payment' Feature to Enhance Transaction Privacy
In an era dominated by digital transactions, Paytm has introduced a new feature designed to boost user privacy—‘Hide Payment’. With online payments now an integral part of daily life, this feature allows users to keep selected transactions private.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the shift toward cashless transactions has accelerated significantly. Apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, BHIM, and Paytm have become common tools for digital payments. Recognizing the growing need for privacy, Paytm has rolled out this new functionality to help users manage the visibility of their transaction history.
Typically, all payments made through digital apps remain visible in the transaction list. However, users sometimes prefer to hide specific transactions for personal reasons. With the ‘Hide Payment’ feature, Paytm now allows users to selectively hide particular transactions from appearing in the visible payment history. This makes it easier to keep certain payments—such as surprise gifts or personal expenses—discreet.
The company has also introduced additional improvements to the app, including a faster QR code scanning experience via a new widget. Users can now check account balances more efficiently and download their complete UPI transaction history in either PDF or Excel formats. These updates aim to simplify expense tracking and enhance user control.
