UIDAI has now made the Aadhaar update process even easier. With the newly launched Aadhaar app, you will no longer need to visit the center or stand in long queues. With the help of this app, you can easily update your address from home. UIDAI has shared information about this on X and has urged users to share their experience of the app at feedback.app@uidai.net.in.

UIDAI has started seeking user feedback for the new Aadhaar app, so that any issues in the app can be identified and resolved promptly. After making improvements based on the feedback received, the process of updating the address from home will become easier for citizens. According to UIDAI, this app will soon be fully available for easily changing the address from home.

What is the current method to update the address?

Before this feature became available, citizens had to either visit UIDAI’s official website or an Aadhaar center in person to update their address. During the process, they had to log in using their Aadhaar number, and verification was completed only through the OTP sent to the registered mobile number.

Aadhaar Address Update Documents

While updating the address, users need to enter the new address and upload the required documents. For this, any of the following documents are acceptable: electricity/water bill, property tax receipt, passport, bank passbook/statement, ration card, rental agreement, driving license, or voter ID card. After the request is submitted, UIDAI verifies the documents, which usually takes about 7–10 working days. Applicants receive a URN to check the status. This process will become even faster in the app.
