Ladki Bahin Yojana: April Installment Expected on April 30 – Will Beloved Sisters Receive ₹1,500 on Akshaya Tritiya?
The much-awaited April installment of the Ladki Bahin Yojana has generated significant buzz among beneficiaries across Maharashtra. Introduced by the Mahayuti government as a flagship welfare initiative for women ahead of the state elections, the scheme has garnered widespread attention and popularity.
The Chief Minister’s Majhi Bahin Ladki Yojana was officially rolled out before Raksha Bandhan, aimed at providing financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month to eligible women in the state. Since its launch, the scheme has proven to be a political masterstroke for the ruling alliance, offering direct financial aid to thousands of families.
April Installment Likely on Akshaya Tritiya
So far, beneficiaries have received eight to nine monthly installments. Initially, it was speculated that the April installment would be credited on the occasion of Ram Navami, but this did not materialize. According to the latest updates, the next expected disbursal is likely to occur on April 30, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya, a date considered auspicious in the Hindu calendar.
Prospects of ₹2,100 Payment in the Future
Amid rising expectations from the public, discussions are also underway about increasing the assistance amount from ₹1,500 to ₹2,100. During the recent budget session, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar addressed the issue, assuring that the government is committed to delivering on its promises.
"We never said we wouldn’t provide the ₹2,100 installment. It will be given once the financial situation of the state improves," said Ajit Pawar.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde echoed this sentiment, noting that Maharashtra’s GDP is among the highest in the country, implying that the state is on a strong economic footing. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare further added that since the government’s manifesto is valid for five years, the enhanced amount could be implemented at any point within that timeframe. However, no official date or confirmation has been announced yet.
Concerns Over Ineligible Beneficiaries
While the scheme has benefited many women, concerns have also emerged over reports that some ineligible individuals are receiving the benefits. Despite this, the Ladki Bahin Yojana remains one of the most talked-about and appreciated welfare programs in the state, offering meaningful support to economically vulnerable women.
As April progresses, all eyes are now on April 30, with thousands of women eagerly awaiting the next deposit under the scheme.
