Madhya Pradesh Crime : A man in Bhopal killed his girlfriend and slept next to her body for four days
In a deeply disturbing incident from Gayatrinagar, Bhopal, a 32-year-old man allegedly murdered his girlfriend during a heated argument and lived with her decomposing body for four days before the crime came to light. The accused, Sachin Rajput, has since been arrested and charged with murder.
According to police reports, Sachin Rajput and Ritika Sen (29) had been living together in a rented apartment in a live-in relationship. While Ritika worked at a reputed private company, Sachin was unemployed. Over time, Sachin grew suspicious of Ritika, believing she was involved in an affair with a senior colleague. This suspicion led to frequent arguments between the couple.
During one such altercation, Sachin, allegedly in a fit of rage, killed Ritika. After committing the murder, he wrapped her body in a blanket, tied it with rope, and placed it on the bed—where he continued to sleep beside it for the next four days. During this time, he is said to have consumed large amounts of alcohol. The horrific crime only came to light when Sachin confided in a friend. Shocked by the confession, the friend immediately alerted the police. Upon arrival, authorities found the body in a state of advanced decomposition. A post-mortem revealed that Ritika had died four days prior to the discovery.
Sachin Rajput has been taken into custody, and a case of murder has been registered against him. Police have sealed the apartment and are conducting further investigation into the case. This gruesome incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising serious concerns about mental health, domestic violence, and the vulnerability of individuals in live-in relationships.
