Shilpa Shetty, husband Raj Kundra booked in Rs 60 crore cheating case
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are facing increased troubles. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has filed a case against them for allegedly defrauding a Mumbai businessman of a whopping 60 crore rupees.
According to the information given to the police by the complainant Deepak Kothari, in 2015, through Rajesh Arya, he was introduced to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. At that time, Kundra and Shetty were directors of Best Deal TV Private Limited, a home shopping and online sales company. It is said that this company took 75 crore rupees from Kothari at an interest rate of 12%. However, it is alleged that to avoid interest, they showed the amount as an investment in the company.
According to Kothari, it was promised to return the principal amount through monthly installments as agreed, but it was not followed. In September 2016, Shilpa Shetty resigned from the director position. Still, between 2015 and 2023, assurances were given to "grow the business and return the money," but it was not fulfilled. Currently, the concerned company has shut down, and the crime has been registered at Juhu police station. The Economic Offenses Wing is investigating the case, and further action is anticipated.
