Shefali Jariwala passes away at 42: "Is the Bigg Boss house cursed?" says former contestant Himanshi Khurana

Actress and reality TV personality Shefali Jariwala, best known for her iconic appearance in the early 2000s hit song ‘Kaanta Laga’, passed away late last night after suffering a heart attack. She was 42. Shefali, who resided in Mumbai’s Andheri Lokhandwala area, reportedly began experiencing severe chest pain around 11 p.m. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared her brought dead on arrival. Her body has since been sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

In the wake of Shefali's untimely demise, tributes and condolences have poured in from the entertainment industry. However, a comment made by her Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Himanshi Khurana has sparked a wave of discussion on social media. Sharing an emotional Instagram story with a photo of Shefali, Himanshi wrote, “Bigg Boss — I think that place is cursed.” Her statement has drawn attention to the eerie pattern of deaths among former contestants of the controversial reality show.

Sidharth Shukla, the winner of Bigg Boss 13 and a close acquaintance of both Shefali and Himanshi, also died of a sudden heart attack in 2021 at the age of 40. A year later, Bigg Boss 14 contestant and actress-politician Sonali Phogat passed away under suspicious circumstances in 2022. With Shefali's death now added to the list, speculation and concern have risen among fans and former participants.

Shefali Jariwala’s unexpected death has also raised questions about potential underlying causes. According to medical reports, the actress was taking two supplements—Vitamin C and Glutathione—for cosmetic purposes. These medications are commonly used for skin lightening and anti-aging but, as per doctors, have no known links to cardiac issues. Despite this, her sudden passing has left fans, friends, and the entertainment fraternity in shock.
