Viral Video: Teen Who Captured Air India Crash Says, “I Will Never Board a Plane Again”
A tragic aviation incident shook Ahmedabad on Thursday when Air India flight AI-171 crashed, claiming the lives of 241 out of 242 passengers on board. What added a striking dimension to this disaster was a live video of the crash, captured by a 17-year-old boy named Aryan, which quickly went viral on social media.
Teenager Captures the Tragedy on Camera
Aryan, a resident of Meghaninagar, was the one who captured the devastating moment on his mobile phone. A student of Class 12, Aryan was visibly shaken after witnessing the horrifying accident.
“After seeing this, I am so scared... I will never travel by plane again,” he said in a trembling voice.
The crash was recorded at 1:39 p.m., as per the timestamp on Aryan’s phone. He later sent the video to his father, and it appears the video may have been shared further, though Aryan denies intentionally distributing it widely.
Family Speaks: A Village Visit Turned Tragic
Aryan’s sister shared that this was Aryan’s first visit to Meghaninagar.
“He usually stays in our village. When he saw a plane flying so low for the first time, he was amazed. He recorded it so he could show it to his friends back home and tell them that planes fly this close to the house here,” she explained.
What started as an innocent attempt to document something new ended up capturing one of the worst air tragedies in recent times.
Police Inquire, No Arrest Made
Following the video's circulation, Ahmedabad police brought Aryan in for questioning regarding the footage. However, authorities clarified that no arrests have been made in connection with the recording or its dissemination.
While the video has provided vital visual evidence for investigators and has been widely circulated, Aryan’s family insists he had no intention beyond sharing a personal moment of awe—unaware that it would soon turn into a record of catastrophe.
