In a move that has affected several domestic and international passengers, Air India cancelled eight flights in a single day on Friday, citing maintenance work and technical issues as the primary reasons. The airline has assured that alternative arrangements have been made and full refunds are being provided to all affected passengers.

Details of Cancelled Flights

According to official reports, the cancelled flights include three international and five domestic services:

International Flights:

  • AI 906 – Dubai to Chennai

  • AI 308 – Delhi to Melbourne

  • AI 309 – Melbourne to Delhi

Domestic Flights:

  • AI 874 – Pune to Delhi

  • AI 456 – Ahmedabad to Delhi

  • AI 2872 – Hyderabad to Mumbai

  • AI 571 – Chennai to Mumbai

  • AI 2204 – Dubai to Hyderabad (classified under domestic operations for routing reaso

Air India has stated that the cancellations are temporary and were necessary to address ongoing aircraft maintenance schedules and to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

In a related development, the airline has also announced a 15% reduction in international flights operated by wide-body aircraft for the upcoming weeks. The move is intended to accommodate maintenance demands and streamline operations amid rising passenger loads and tight fleet availability.
