Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has finally spoken out following the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident, which took place on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, many of whom were reportedly asked about their religion before being executed. The tragedy sparked national outrage and prompted the Indian Army to launch Operation Sindoor in retaliation.

In the days following the attack and the subsequent military operation, many Bollywood celebrities voiced their support for the Indian Army. However, Amitabh Bachchan had remained notably silent on social media, leaving fans and followers wondering about his absence. That silence ended on Saturday when the megastar took to his official account on 'X' (formerly Twitter) to express his emotions.

In a poignant and emotional post, Bachchan described the horrors of the Pahalgam attack, narrating how a terrorist dragged an innocent couple outside during their holiday. According to the actor's account, the husband was stripped and shot in cold blood while his wife pleaded for mercy. When the distraught woman begged the terrorist to shoot her as well, he chillingly responded, "No… you go and tell them."

Sharing his anguish, Amitabh drew from the poetry of his father, the revered Harivansh Rai Bachchan, to convey the mental trauma and sorrow. He wrote:

'है चिता की राख कर में मांगती सिंदूर दुनिया' (बाबूजी की पंक्ति)

तो ' ....' ने दे दिया सिंदूर, ऑपरेशन सिंदूर!!!'

जय हिन्द, जय हिन्द की सेना,

तू ना थमेगा कभी, तू न मुड़ेगा कभी, तू न झुकेगा कभी,

कर शपथ, कर शपथ, कर शपथ!

अग्निपथ! अग्निपथ! अग्निपथ!!!'

The powerful post quickly went viral, resonating with many who saw it as a heartfelt salute to the Indian Army’s courage and the sacrifices of innocent lives.

Following the April 22 massacre, the Indian government and armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to dismantle terror camps across the border. On May 10, both India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, but not before Indian forces delivered a firm and strategic response.
