Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message against terrorism at the G7 Summit, directly targeting Pakistan for allegedly supporting cross-border terrorism. In his address, PM Modi described Pakistan as a country that “fuels terrorism” and warned that ignoring such actions would be a “betrayal against humanity.”

“If countries like Pakistan continue to ignore and support cross-border terrorism, it will be nothing short of a betrayal against humanity,” said Modi, urging the global community to take firm and united action. Speaking during the Outreach Session of the summit, the Prime Minister questioned the international community's standards in dealing with terrorism, asking: “Will countries that spread terrorism be treated by the same yardstick as those who suffer from it?”

Modi's remarks reflect India’s longstanding concerns about Pakistan's alleged role in sponsoring terrorism, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. His speech reinforced India's call for a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and sought global accountability for nations that harbor or finance terrorist groups. In the backdrop of the summit, Prime Minister Modi also held a telephonic conversation with former U.S. President Donald Trump, where the two leaders reportedly discussed India-Pakistan relations. Concerns over Pakistan’s involvement in destabilizing activities were highlighted during the call.

PM Modi used the G7 platform to clearly articulate India’s firm stance on terrorism and emphasized the need for concrete global steps to ensure peace and security. As terrorism remains a key global concern, Modi’s remarks added weight to the ongoing dialogue on international cooperation against extremist threats, urging world leaders to act decisively and collectively.
