(Flight Service From India to China) The direct air service between India and China, which has been suspended since 2020, is now set to resume. The approval process for three Chinese airlines pending with the Indian aviation regulator DGCA is in the final stages, and it is expected that permission will be granted by mid-October. Once the necessary formalities are completed, direct flights may start this winter.

According to the information, direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu are going to be started. Due to the increased tensions following the COVID-19 pandemic and the Galwan Valley conflict, direct services between these two countries were suspended since 2020. Currently, travelers have to go to China via third countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, or Bangkok, which results in higher time and money expenditure.

On India's side, Air India and Indigo are preparing to resume these services. Meanwhile, from China, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shandong Airlines have applied for slots with the DGCA and Delhi Airport. Once approved, these airlines will be able to start their flights to India.

Experts say that the start of direct flights will provide great relief to travelers and will also boost trade and tourism.
