Donald Trump Announces New Tariffs on 70 Countries
Donald Trump has announced the implementation of 'Reciprocal Tariff' on imports from more than 70 countries, marking a significant change in international trade policy. This decision will come into effect from August 7, 2025. According to the new rates, import taxes will range from 10% to 41%.
Trump had said, “August 1 is the final deadline. It is fixed, it will not be extended. It is a big day for America. In early July, while announcing August 1 as the revised final date, Trump had noted that, “This date is set, but not 100% final.”
Before this date, the Trump administration had officially communicated with various countries about the new tariff rates on imports from their countries, which were mostly consistent with the initial rates announced on April 2.
In early April, Trump announced that America had decided to impose a uniform 10% tax on imports from almost all countries. At the same time, he clarified that tariffs up to 50% would be applied to some countries.
