5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Tibet; No Casualties Reported
A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck the Tibet region in the early hours of Sunday, according to official seismic reports. The quake was recorded at 2:41 AM IST, shaking parts of the region and causing brief panic.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located within the Tibetan plateau, a region known for seismic activity due to tectonic movements along the Himalayan fault lines. While the tremors were strongly felt in Tibet, mild vibrations were reportedly experienced in some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Fortunately, no casualties or significant damage to infrastructure have been reported so far, officials said.
Local authorities and geological departments continue to monitor the situation closely. Emergency services in the affected regions remain on alert as a precautionary measure, though no aftershocks have been reported at this time.
