Iran-Israel Conflict: Yemen Warns U.S., Says "American Ships in the Red Sea Will Be Targeted"
Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, Yemen's Houthi rebels have issued a sharp warning to the United States. The group has declared that it will target American naval vessels in the Red Sea if the U.S. lends its military support to Israel in the ongoing conflict against Iran.
In a televised statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sariya announced open support for Iran. He stated unequivocally that “If the U.S. attacks Iran, we will retaliate by targeting American military ships in the Red Sea.”
This statement comes just hours after reports surfaced of a large-scale American airstrike on Iranian soil. The U.S. military allegedly launched attacks on three key Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The strike reportedly caused a major fire at the Fordow nuclear plant. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the development in a post on social media, warning Iran of more severe consequences if peace is not restored.
Iran has strongly condemned the airstrikes, labeling them a violation of international law. Iranian officials have also reiterated their determination to continue the country’s nuclear program despite the attacks.
The growing involvement of regional powers and the threat of a wider conflict have sparked global concern. With the Red Sea now a potential hotspot, the international community watches anxiously, speculating on the far-reaching consequences of a full-blown Iran-Israel war.
