A day after External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced that India and Pakistan had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning a ceasefire and military conduct, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued a strong and surprising statement—Operation Sindoor is not over yet.

In a statement released on Sunday, the IAF confirmed that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, is still ongoing. The operation, according to the IAF, has been executed “deliberately and discreetly,” and remains aligned with India's strategic objectives.

The announcement came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level security meeting attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. “The Indian Air Force has accurately and successfully completed the assigned objectives under Operation Sindoor. All actions were carried out with precision, prudence, and in full alignment with national interests,” the IAF stated.

Emphasizing the sensitive nature of the ongoing operations, the Air Force also issued an advisory urging the public and media to avoid speculation. “As operations are still in progress, further details will be shared at the appropriate time. The IAF appeals to all to refrain from spreading unverified or misleading information,” the statement added. The Air Force’s declaration has sent a strong message, especially to Pakistan, indicating that India remains resolute and uncompromising in its stance against terrorism.
