Iran-Israel Conflict : Indian Embassy Issues Advisory to Citizens in Qatar
As tensions in the Middle East escalate following Iran’s missile strike on the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the Indian Embassy in Doha has issued an urgent advisory to Indian nationals residing in the country. With over 700,000 Indians living in Qatar, the evolving conflict could have significant implications for the Indian diaspora.
According to reports, Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for the missile attack, stating it was a retaliatory response to a potential threat against Washington’s nuclear facilities. The Guard also issued a stern warning of severe consequences for any future actions that challenge Iran’s sovereignty.
Following the strike, explosions were heard in Doha, and air-to-air missile defense systems were activated across key locations, raising fears of further military escalation in the region.
In light of the security situation, the Indian Embassy in Doha has urged all Indian citizens to:
Remain indoors as much as possible
Stay calm and avoid panic
Closely follow updates and instructions issued by Qatari authorities
The embassy emphasized that safety remains the top priority and that it is actively monitoring the situation while remaining in contact with local officials.
The Iran-Israel conflict is not limited to Qatar. Iran has also targeted military installations in Iraq, and alerts have been issued in Kuwait and Bahrain. In a precautionary move, Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace, leading to the diversion of several commercial flights.
