The 10-day-long conflict between Israel and Iran, triggered by Israel’s launch of ‘Operation Rising Lion’ on June 13, has resulted in significant destruction on both sides. However, early assessments suggest that Iran has borne the brunt of the damage, both in terms of infrastructure and human loss.

The military operation, initiated by Israel, primarily targeted Iran’s sensitive nuclear facilities. Major airstrikes were carried out on nuclear projects in Natanz, Isfahan, and Arak, resulting in widespread devastation. According to initial intelligence and media reports, the strikes killed hundreds of soldiers, nuclear scientists, and members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Several military bases were destroyed, and radiation leaks were reported in some areas, severely impacting Iran’s missile command and control systems.

In retaliation, Iran launched approximately 1,000 drones and 450 missiles toward Israel. However, the majority of these projectiles were successfully intercepted by Israel’s multi-layered air defense systems, including the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and the Arrow (Aero) system. Despite this, a few missiles managed to penetrate the defenses, hitting civilian areas and causing 24 civilian deaths and over 200 injuries.

From a strategic and military standpoint, Israel’s infrastructure remained largely intact, while Iran’s losses were significant, encompassing financial, technical, and human resources. Experts suggest that Israel’s technological edge and robust defense systems played a decisive role in minimizing its damage and asserting control in the early stages of the conflict.

The aftermath of this 10-day war highlights the growing importance of advanced defense technologies and precision strikes in modern warfare—factors that appear to have given Israel a significant upper hand in this confrontation.
