Abu Saifullah, a top commander of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the mastermind behind the 2006 attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur, was reportedly shot dead by unknown assailants in Pakistan’s Sindh province.

Saifullah, also known by aliases Mohammad Salim and Rajullah Nizamani, was a key figure in Lashkar-e-Taiba’s transnational operations. He had been operating a terror network out of Nepal and was responsible for facilitating the recruitment and financing of terrorist operatives.

According to security sources, Saifullah was killed at Matli Falkara Chowk in Sindh by unidentified gunmen. His killing is considered a significant blow to the Lashkar network, as he had been instrumental in coordinating at least three major terror attacks on Indian soil.

Indian intelligence agencies had placed Saifullah on the list of most wanted terrorists. Under pressure from international counterterrorism efforts, he reportedly fled Nepal and returned to Pakistan in recent years.

While details surrounding the motive and identity of the attackers remain unclear, authorities believe Saifullah's death could disrupt Lashkar’s external operations, especially those aimed at destabilizing India through cross-border terrorism.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover further information about the circumstances of his death and the potential implications for the broader LeT network.
