In a swift and decisive retaliation following a heinous terror attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, India has launched a major counter-operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist strongholds across the border in Pakistan. The operation resulted in the elimination of five high-profile terrorists affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfits.

The Pahalgam Attack: A Brutal Act of Terror

The nation was left in shock after a brutal terror attack took place in the scenic Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. According to initial reports, the assailants targeted tourists and reportedly questioned them about their religion before executing the attack. The incident has been widely condemned across the country and has reignited calls for stringent action against cross-border terrorism.

India Responds with Operation Sindoor

In response to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government launched Operation Sindoor on May 7. The operation was aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure across the border and sending a strong message against any future acts of aggression.

Sources confirm that Indian forces successfully destroyed several terrorist airbases located in Pakistan. The targets were carefully chosen based on intelligence inputs and were known to harbor top-level militants responsible for orchestrating attacks on Indian soil.

Top Terrorists Neutralized

During the course of the operation, five notorious terrorists were neutralized. These individuals had long been on India’s most-wanted list due to their involvement in various terror attacks and recruitment activities. The eliminated militants are:

  • Mudassar Khadiyan Khas alias Abu Jundal – senior operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba

  • Mohammad Yusuf Azhar alias Ustad Ji – a key commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad

  • Hafiz Mohammad Jamil – senior member of JeM’s operational wing

  • Mohammad Hassan Khan – strategic planner with JeM

  • Khalid alias Abu Akasha – explosives expert from Lashkar-e-Taiba
