In a major revelation, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has admitted that China has been providing Pakistan with secret intelligence related to India, particularly following recent military tensions. His statement has added a new layer of concern to the already strained relations in the South Asian region.

This disclosure comes in the wake of India's successful "Operation Sindoor", which reportedly targeted and destroyed several terrorist camps in Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In response to India's aggressive action, Khawaja Asif revealed in an interview that China extended intelligence support to Pakistan through satellite surveillance and other means.

“Sharing of classified information between friendly nations has become a normal practice,” Asif stated. “We also share intelligence with China, and there is nothing unusual about this,” he added, attempting to downplay the significance of the cooperation.

According to the minister, Pakistan has been on high alert since the military confrontation with India. “Islamabad has been continuously vigilant since the conflict, and we have shown no hesitation in maintaining our preparedness,” he asserted. Asif further mentioned that Pakistan has sustained heightened military readiness for more than a month.

The military standoff between India and Pakistan reportedly occurred between May 7 and 10, with a ceasefire being declared afterward. However, tensions remain high, and the latest admission by the Pakistani minister has raised alarms in strategic circles in New Delhi.

This revelation underscores the deepening strategic alliance between China and Pakistan, particularly in defense and intelligence-sharing domains. Experts suggest that this could further complicate India’s security calculus and potentially prompt a recalibration of diplomatic and military strategies.

As of now, the Indian government has not officially responded to Khawaja Asif’s statement, but internal sources suggest the matter is being taken seriously at the highest levels. The situation continues to evolve, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics in the India-Pakistan-China triangle, where intelligence sharing and military collaborations are increasingly influencing regional stability.
